The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is looking for professionals committed to our mission of ending homelessness. Our dedication to making a difference in the lives of homeless men, women and children means that we need to draw upon the talent and teamwork that comes from having a diverse staff.

Cashier

The Mission Thrift Store of the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is seeking a motivated individual for a part time cashier position.  As a ministry extension and support of our shelter services, eligible candidates must be personable, reliable, and ready to engage in ministry with our clients.  Prior retail or cashier experience is preferred.  Please download and complete an application and send it or a résumé to personnel@sbrescuemission.com.


Childcare (PT)

Our Family Services component is in need of late afternoon/early evening help with the children’s ministry.  For Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., we are looking for a compassionate, disciplined, energetic, and engaging individual to work with children of many ages.  Prior work with children and teens is preferred, and references are a must.  Please download and complete an application and send it or a résumé, with references, to personnel@sbrescuemission.com.


Driver

There is currently a ministry opportunity for part time work as a driver for our food services department.  This position includes deliveries, goods donation collections, and some personnel shuttling.  This position requires constant interaction with the community, and a neat appearance and friendly disposition are necessary.  Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.  If you are dependable, have good time management skills, and are able to work a flexible schedule, please send your résumé to personnel@sbrescuemission.com or download and complete our application


Nurses

The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is currently seeking ministry partners to fill a nursing pool for our McNeil Street shelter. Nurses will provide care as directed by a physician as well as assisting clients with routine ailments.  A partial list of duties includes maintaining records of vital statistics, interacting with outside care providers, monitoring supplies, coordinating and attending clinics with volunteer physicians, dispensing medications, and monitoring client medication consumption.  This position requires constant interaction with our clients, and therefore a friendly, approachable, and patient disposition are necessary.  Candidates must be currently licensed, have a minimum of an LPN, and at least 2 years of experience.  Candidates must be able to work flexible hours.  This position has the potential to lead to a permanent part time position.  Anyone interested in using his or her skills for the ministry may send résumés with references to personnel@sbrescuemission.com.
