What is currently the greatest need?
The needs of the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission vary from day to day and season to season. SBRM's Current Needs List is updated on a monthly basis. Monetary donations help continue the day-to-day operations of the shelter, to purchase goods that meet existing needs, and provide consistency of service, food, utilities, etc.
Does a person have to be a Christian to get help at your facilities?
No. Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission opens our doors to all who are in need, regardless of religious affiliation. We want to help those struggling with addiction recovery, domestic violence, or economic hardship. We want everyone to be free from homelessness, addiction, and violence.
Do you require residents to attend chapel services?
The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission exists to pursue the passion of Jesus Christ to lift up the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted, therefore we ask all residents to attend chapel services. We have seen many lives changed when men and women encounter the love, forgiveness, and new life available in Jesus Christ. Many shelter residents believe their new lives began when they heard the messages shared during chapel services. We do not accept funds that would restrict our freedom to share this Good News with those who may never hear it otherwise.
