For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink I was a stranger, and you invited Me in. --Matthew 25:35

Over 180 Volunteers Helping for Thanksgiving
Friday, November 21, 2008
Due to the overwhelming generosity and support of the people of Northwest Louisiana, the Rescue Mission has over 180 volunteers scheduled to help for Thanksgiving Day, and no more volunteers are needed.
However, volunteer opportunities abound year-round and Volunteer Coordinator Brandee Solomon would be glad to set up anyone who desires to help. Please call her at 227-2868, ext. 104.
Over 1,500 meals are being prepared for the homeless in our community on Thanksgiving Day.
Due to news story on KSLA-TV asking for turkeys due to a power outage that caused many frozen turkeys to ruin, the Rescue Mission now has plenty of meat for Thanksgiving Day.
However, donations of perishable goods like dinner rolls, cakes and pies would still be greatly appreciated for Thanksgiving. Please bring any donated items to the kitchen loading dock on the 901 McNeil Street facility between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
