Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in volunteering as an individual, group, or business with an organization that helps the homeless men, women and children of Northwest Louisiana? You have come to the right place!

Here are some ways to get involved.

Volunteer Orientation - We ask all volunteers to attend an orientation, which are scheduled on one Saturday morning each month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Check upcoming dates on the calendar. Please remember to RSVP.

*Groups: One member of the group may attend the orientation. It is the responsibility of that member to relate the information learned at the orientation to the group serving. Every person serving does have to fill out a volunteer application.

Serve meals to the men, women and children
Tutor children
Work at the Rescue Mission Thrift Store
Participate in Children’s Chapel
Help at the Warehouse
Assist at our Medical/Dental Clinics
Lead a Bible Study
Administrative Assistance
Volunteer Driver to help pick up food deliveries
Lead evening Chapel services
Complete miscellaneous projects throughout one of the Mission facilities
Host an event (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Easter party) for our clients
Collect goods off of the immediate needs list.
Help out with many of our special events throughout the year

The Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission is proud of its partnerships in the community with local businesses. These businesses have given their support to help the hurting and homeless men, women and children of this community.

Businesses help in a variety of ways, from giving excess food, donating a new playground, creating a children’s play room to being a title sponsor at one of our annual fund-raising events. The opportunities are endless in how a business could help the homeless residing at the Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission. We would love to cultivate a powerful relationship with you and your business.
