Do you require guests to attend chapel services?

The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission exists to pursue the passion of Jesus Christ to lift up the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted, therefore we ask all guests to attend chapel services. We have seen many lives changed when men and women encounter the love, forgiveness, and new life available in Jesus Christ. Many guests will often say that their new lives began when they heard a particular message during chapel services. We do not accept funds that would restrict our freedom to share this Good News with those who may never hear it otherwise.

Does a person have to be a Christian to get help at your facilities?

No. Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission opens our doors to all who are in need, regardless of religious affiliation. We want to help those struggling with addiction recovery, domestic violence, or economic hardship. We want everyone to be free from homelessness, addiction, and violence.

What is currently the greatest need?

The needs of the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission vary from day to day and season to season. SBRM’s Current Needs List is updated on a monthly basis. You can find that most recent list by clicking the Volunteer Opportunities link under the Volunteer tab. Monetary donations are also needed to help continue the day-to-day operations of the shelter and our Life Recovery Program.

How does someone get into one of your programs?

You can use the numbers found on the Contact tab to contact the various programs or click on the links under the Our Programs tab to learn what is offered.

Are your doors always open?

Yes. We serve homeless men, women, and families with children 365 days a year with food, shelter, and clothing. Normal intake hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm.
