How do I get started volunteering?
We ask that all volunteers start by attending a Volunteer Orientation which are usually on the first Saturday morning of each month, 10:00 to 12:00 pm. Take a look at the Mission calendar for future dates on by clicking the Volunteer Opportunities tab. *Groups: One member of the group may attend the orientation. It is the responsibility of that member to relate the information learned at the orientation to the group serving. However, every person serving does have to fill out a volunteer application.
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Due to current health code regulations, only children 11 and older can help serve in the kitchen area. The Rescue Mission requires anyone under the age of 18 to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian while volunteering at any of the Rescue Mission facilities.
