The Community’s Mission

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, we are reminded daily that this is not just our Mission, it is truly the community’s Mission. Everything that happens within our walls is only possible because of the faithful and generous support of our partners.

Each partner brings something unique. Our friends at Bonvenu Bank sponsor events and serve meals at the Mission regularly. Hunters for the Hungry and Bellevue Meat Company donate and process meat that provides the protein for most of our meals. The CHEN Foundation blesses the children/grand-children of the guests in our long-term New Beginnings Program by purchasing Christmas gifts. First Baptist Shreveport hosts our annual 5/10K and Fun Run while sponsoring other events. Frymaster’s generous donations help provide much of what is needed for the 1,000 meals that go out Thanksgiving morning to families in need across our communities. These are just a few examples of who God is using to make an impact in the lives of our guests.

Like the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:12 “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.” Together, every church, business, organization, and volunteer plays a vital role in lifting up the most vulnerable in our community.

One of the most remarkable things about the Mission is that we receive zero government funding. Every meal served, every bed prepared, and every life transformed happens because of the generosity of people like you. Your support ensures that the hope of Jesus Christ is shared freely and that every man, woman, and child who walks through our doors has the opportunity to experience His love in practical, life-changing ways.

When we say “we couldn’t do it without you,” we truly mean it. Thank you for being faithful partners in this Kingdom work. Together, we are making an eternal difference, one life at a time.
