Project Mission Tree Provides Gifts for Homeless each Year
Update: Thank you to everyone that made Mission Tree a success. Over 700 gifts were distributed to homeless men, women and children. These individuals are working to get their life back on track in our Life Recovery Program. Thank you to everyone that made our Mission Tree Party possible. Thank you to our friends at Eldorado Resort and Casino for supplying dinner and to our amazing board members who came to serve. And most of all thank you to our amazing community who makes this possible. Your gift not only made their Christmas brighter but gives them hope to continue on their journey. From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you!!!
Each year, we need volunteers to help provide Christmas gifts to homeless men, women, and children in the Mission’s Life Recovery Program. Through Project Mission Tree, guests can request up to 3 gifts they would like, each valued at $30 or less.
This is a great opportunity for businesses, churches and groups. Tags are available for pick up starting in early November. Tags can be picked off a Christmas tree in our McNeil lobby (901 McNeil St., Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30) or we can email them to you.
Presents should be gift-wrapped and returned to the Mission at a date set usually in early December, with the tag secured to it. For more information, contact Sonnie Nash at 318.227.2868, ext. 104 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This is an opportunity to give back to the community and know your gift will impact your neighbor’s life,” said Sarah Ardis, Director of Development and Community Relations.
Gifts will be distributed to guests at the annual Christmas Party in early December.
