Sponsor a Meal Restaurant Program

Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is launching a new campaign to help restaurants during this difficult time. The program is meant to bring businesses or private donors together with local restaurants to help people who are experiencing homelessness.

Our hope is that this will be a great partnership that will not only help people who desperately need food right now, but at the same time will help one of the hardest hit industries during the pandemic – restaurants and the people who work there. Our restaurants may be at a point for beginning to re-open but they are only able to re-open at 25% occupancy which means restaurants are still losing much of their potential revenue. You can be a part of helping these business during these trying times.

The Sponsor a Meal Restaurant Program will allow our area businesses and private donors to connect with the local restaurants, commissioning them to prepare delicious meals to be served at the Mission. The program is meant to cover one or more complete meal needs (feeding between 75-120 guests).

The process for sponsoring a meal at the Mission is simple.

Here is what you do:

  1. Restaurant finds a donor, donor finds a restaurant, or the Mission will provide donor with a restaurant recommendation based on our current restaurant partnerships upon request. The restaurant or donor will reach out to the Mission about sponsoring a meal by contacting us at sponsor@sbrescuemission.com
  2. The Mission staff will connect the restaurant with our Kitchen Manager to coordinate logistics. She will inform the restaurant about the quantity of food needed and arrange a day for the food to be donated. The Mission kitchen will stay within the agreed upon budget with the donor.
  3. Once the logistics have been coordinated with the restaurant, the donor will pay the costs of the meal to the Mission and the Mission will then pay the restaurant. The Mission will provide the donor with a tax receipt upon receipt of their sponsorship.
  4. Restaurant will drop off the meal at the designated time and the Kitchen team will serve the meal to our guests.

All Sponsor a Meal Restaurant Program participants will be highlighted on the Mission’s social media accounts if they so choose. This includes the business, donor, and restaurant.

Our local restaurants need our help now more than ever so if you have the means and are able, please partner with the Mission and a local restaurant today.
